• Loretta Subhi

Loretta Subhi joined Hall Matson in September 2021 and continues to focus her practice on medical malpractice defense.  Prior to joining Hall Matson, she spent 32 years as a medical malpractice defense attorney handling appeals, motions, trial preparation and video trial deposition, case management, and LARA licensing matters.

Loretta graduated magna cum laude from Albion College in 1985 with a double major in Economics/Management and Political Science. At Albion she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a merit scholar and received the Outstanding Political Science Major Award. She played Varsity Field Hockey (3 yrs.) and Varsity Basketball (4 yrs.) while also spending a semester studying in Jerusalem and then a summer working in Washington D.C.

Loretta graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1988. She spent a semester studying in London and in her third year was the Director of the Legal Aid Office civil division. After graduation she practiced corporate law for a large firm in Detroit for two years before moving back to East Lansing, where she grew up, and started her legal career in medical malpractice defense work.

Loretta, a colon cancer survivor, has a strong commitment to community service and is currently running a cancer ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish/St. John’s Student Parish for people undergoing cancer treatment. She also volunteers one Sunday a month at a local nursing home and volunteers twice a month with food packing and distribution at the St. John’s food pantry. She is currently the Vice President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John’s and is very involved with serving those in need in our community.
